FRIENDLY REMINDER about Furry Family Members
In the spirit of both hospitality and clean facilities, please kindly clean up your furry family member's mess on school sidewalks and areas leading to the Taylor facilities.
Please respect school property and policy where no dogs allowed signs are posted.
While many love our furry family members, we as a community must remember that we need to provide the opportunity for students to avoid them for a variety of reasons.
If you spot a neighbor or passerby not cleaning up after their pet, gently say something or contact the Facilities Advocacy Group.
SHORT TERM DISMISSAL FORM
- Use this form for short-term (one or two days) changes to a student’s dismissal instructions.
- Do not use this form if the child is to be picked up early from school for an appointment (prior to 3:00 pm). Continue to email your teacher to let them know of any early dismissal.
- Please make sure the correct date (s) are submitted as well as instructions as to whether they will be a car rider, a bus rider, a walker, going to extended day, or going home with a friend, etc.
- Where applicable, include the name of the authorized adult to whom the child will be released. Please make sure the authorized adult has a photo ID available.

APS ONLINE BACK TO SCHOOL PACKET
The Annual Online Verification Process (AOVP) is now called the “Online Back-to-School Packet.” At the start of each school year, families are required to complete an Online Back to School Packet to:
- ensure that your student’s school has updated information (phone numbers, emails, home address) for all parents/guardians, and designated emergency contacts.
- opt in or out of student information releases, academic and career or social-emotional counseling services, and more.
- review the APS Handbook to learn about attendance requirements, student rights and responsibilities, and more.
To complete the packet, families must login to ParentVUE at vue.apsva.us or through the mobile app.
