Giving Tuesday

A favorite and popular event at Taylor (and beyond!) Giving Tuesday provides an opportunity for students to donate their own funds to a local organization of their choice and receive a thank you note from the non-profit. It really exemplifies what KidsGiving is all about!

The goal is to teach kids the habit of philanthropy and supporting others in need in our local community. Students are asked to give their OWN money, the amount doesn’t matter. Parents can make their own donations too...a great way to encourage your child is to consider matching their gift! Any student who gives $1 or more will receive a thank you letter from the organization. Last year students raised over $ in just one day to support local nonprofits!

How it will work:

Donation stations will be open before school from 8-9 am and after school from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Taylor front door area (or lobby if the weather is inclement). On this day, students can support one or more of the following Arlington-based nonprofits: AFAC, PathForward, EcoAction Arlington, Aspire!, Arlington Free Clinic and AWLA.

This past week, a donation form went home with students; you can help your child fill out in advance they can bring in with their donation funds. This will ensure your child receives a personal thank you from the organization(s) they are supporting.

HELP IS NEEDED ON 11/28!

This event will take place around school hours and children will be able to visit the donation stations without parents. However, we could really use some helping grown-up hands working the donation stations so we can help collect donations, donation slips and help children with their donating. Please visit our Sign Up Genius here if you are able to help us during the donation station hours.
