 BLACKBOARD

The BLACKBOARD Learning System is an "e-Education platform" designed to use the internet as an additional tool that teachers, parents and students can use to communicate.  

Some teachers use it to post schedules and party information.   Some post study material related to in-class learning, assignments, newsletters, class activities (including a  movie of the Thanksgiving Feast or a Halloween slideshow), or even homework. There are some teachers that have not yet begun to use this.  

To try BLACKBOARD,  you can open the application by clicking here,  or from the APS main web page.    Once in BLACKBOARD, click "Login".   Use your child's student number (your teacher can give this number to you, or it's on your report card) as the username and his/her birthdate (e.g., 121856 for Dec. 18, 1956  or   51494 for May 14, 1994) for the password.

When you've successfully logged in, click "My Courses," select "Taylor Student Course." You'll then be directed to a screen with a bunch of buttons on the left side. Click on "Grade Levels" and then ...   explore.
